Loren’s Niche Blog Update

Well, it is March 2010. The first quarter of 2010 blogging. We all need to take a look periodically to see where we are; where we came from, and where we intend to be in the following months. Our success is really dependent upon our efforts as well our relationships we choose to develop. Many of us our fairly creative and have much to offer, but there is always someone who has some unique information to give and if we don’t harness these blogging relationships, we may miss them. Our blogging friends are not just people that have additional information to share when needed, but they are also people that can give an encouraging word when you feel you would most rather quit.

Right now–I’m going to reflect back on my 2010 goals from the beginning of this year and update how my niche blog is doing.

1 – Unique Article Writer submissions was included in my goals for client services. I have increased my client base extensively and will continue working on this.

2- I have completed several more months of The Niche Blogger training. My goal was to complete at least two months each month. I have just a few months to go, but I feel comfortable taking these much slower as I have completed the bulk of my niche blog training. The rest of the months are for further blogging business development.

3 – This goal was to complete at least 10 sites. I have set up 8 sites, however, they will still need to be marketed completely.

4 – In regards to my PLR project, I started on my first article in February. Plan to have a couple article packages completed before the end of this month.

5 – Instead of setting up two sites a month, I will be focusing more on blog flipping to receive more active income. I plan to utilize Michelle’s Virtual Real Estate Development or VRED course to accomplish this goal. I have no regrets about signing up for this and she makes a point in giving you support and guidance along the way.

6 – I am still pondering on doing an E-book, however, it will probably be the last thing I do. I want to focus most of my energy on clients, niche blog flipping, and my PLR article project.

7 – I will add one more goal to the list at this point. I am really happy with my article marketing at Xomba.com.

I had mentioned that my issue in the past was picking some horrible keywords. Since then, I have purchased Micro Niche Finder and have found that it works wonders. No more issues.

Thus far I think I am doing pretty well. Maintaining my niche blogging relationships has been very important to me in my journey and has really helped. I will continue to update you with my progress in the near future!

As a unique way of looking at what blogging really means, a few of us gathered together our thoughts on how blogging can change the world and our individual lives. This is what we came up with:

Can A Blog Change the World?” by Ruth: “Blogging as an opportunity to use your voice for what you truly believe in, changing your world for the better”.

My Blogging Vision” by Lisa: “When I started blogging back in October of 2007, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I’ve seen a lot of changes in my life since then yet my vision for my blog remains the same.”

My Blogging Journey” by Stephen: “Life has been a journey of twists and turns for me. As an introvert it has sometimes been a little bit too stimulating…if life has taught me anything, it is that the world is an amazing place with so many struggles, challenges, opportunities and stories from real people.”

At the Speed of Blog” by Steve: “What I have seen in the way mankind has changed in the form of communication during my lifetime.”

All About Me” by Donny: “All About Me – Well maybe not all. I wanted to take a minute and give everyone a chance to get to know a bit about who I am, how I got here, what I hope to accomplish and why I am looking to Internet Marketing and, more specifically, Niche Blogging for income.”

Turning Dreams Into Goals” by Donna: “For the past year my dream has been to make enough money working online so that both me and my husband could work from home. We have a business that I currently run from home and I wanted to turn that over to him while I created websites.”

Why I Blog and Why I’ll Continue to Blog” by Michelle: Inspired by others who ‘care’, I got to thinking about the world we all live in and how we have this amazing communication channel we know as the World Wide Web: I wondered if by blogging, can I change the world? Here’s some of the thoughts that quickly came to mind”

Blogging Vision 2010” by Jen: “AkitaJitsu’s “Niche Blogging for Non-Techies” is all about answering technical questions about building niche blogs in a non-technical way. Jen (aka, Akitajitsu) started the blog a few months ago, and has written a plan for the blog’s future. She hopes this blog will become a popular resource for niche bloggers.”

Blogging to Change the World – My World” by Leslie: “Blogging can be a hobby, something you do for fun. For me, it changed my world for the better. It made my life the dreamlife I always envisioned.”

  1. You are so right about the blogging relationships. When we blog, we can communicate with people from all over the world, which especially has taught me so much. I always appreciate the encouragement so much as well – because the people in real life just don’t understand the obsession ;) You’ve got a lot of goals, and looks like you’re doing really well to meet them! Hope everything keeps going well for you, especially your first flip.

  3. Loren, you have only been at this a short time, but have already made great progress mostly because you know that “success is really dependent upon our efforts”.

  7. Your take on community is one that so many people miss. The theme on my green living website has been community for the last couple weeks.

An interesting note that can be gathered from your list is that many of us (myself included) put up a bunch of sites and only partly marketing them. I had about 80 sites with about 65 of them parked at one time and it was difficult to market all or any.

Focusing on a few, marketing, automating and then nurturing your babies is really something more of us should do.

I’m slowly warming to PLR (I’m a resistant rebel)if it is created by quality writers, like Ruth, Michelle and yourself with value in mind.

Look forward to seeing your work and following you on the forums.

  8. Hi Loren,
I’ll be looking over my quarter one goals in the next week or so. I think I’ve done pretty well against most of them, but like you I have existing projects that still need marketing properly.

The important thing is to keep positive and keep moving forward!

Best of luck with your own plan and goals,
    Des.

    • Moving forward is really the most important thing to do. Getting stuck on what wasn’t completed and what we perceive to be failures is all a big illusion and a stumbling block. I appreciate you stopping by! ;-)

  9. Loren you really are an action taker, I love it! You certainly have a lot on and with focus I’m sure you’ll achieve what you set out to.

I agree with Stephen that the community is often ‘missed’ as important, so it’s wonderful to see you include it in your post. Networking with like minded people online has seen me form some amazing friendships, a type that can’t be described really especially when a lot of us haven’t ever met in person.:)

Good luck with all your goals for 2010.

    • I appreciate it Michelle and glad to hear from you! The online community I’ve met within the past few months has been so important in my journey. Look forward to completing my goals along with all of you :-)

  10. A sound relationship with others is an important element to further our success and the best way to do this is through genuine connection with other people.

You sure have a lot goals to accomplish this year and I believe you will conquer them all. :-)

    • I appreciate it Walter! Trying to find the balance now with accomplishing goals and nurturing friendships and relationships. It all pays off in the end for everyone ;-)

  11. Hi Loren … tripped on over here via Ruth’s.

I like that you are both visionary and target oriented and take the time to review where you are vis a vis your 2010 goal. I went through a similar exercise at the beginning of March and wrote on how if not on track we can take certain steps to bouy up the results.

When you have a plan, review it, correct and continue on a regular basis, the chance of success is multiplied tenfold.

Wishing you continued success in all your endeavours
